Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign in — whether with Google or with an email and password — we receive your email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive the basic profile information Google shares for sign-in (typically your name and profile photo URL), which we use only to help pre-fill your account, not to post anything on your behalf.

Profile information you provide. Display name, username, and the avatar you select from our built-in avatar set (we don't support uploading your own photos).

Gameplay data. The lineups you submit (which contestants you pick, who you designate as captain), the leagues you create or join, and your resulting scores and standings.

Communications. If you contact us for support, we keep a record of that correspondence.

Automatically collected information. Standard technical data your browser sends to any website — IP address, browser type, device type — and cookies used to keep you signed in.

We do not collect payment information. Game the Show is free to play.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information above to:

• Create and maintain your account
• Let you build lineups, join leagues, and see standings
• Send you gameplay emails — reminders before a lineup locks, and a summary after an episode is scored
• Show your username, avatar, and score to other members of leagues you're in
• Diagnose problems and keep the Service working
• Enforce our Terms of Service

3. Emails

We send two kinds of gameplay emails: lineup lock reminders and post-episode score summaries. You can turn these off at any time from your Account page — we'll still need to email you about things like account security or major changes to this policy, but gameplay reminders are entirely optional.

4. What Other Members Can See

Game the Show is a social game. If you're in a league with other players, they can see your username, your avatar, and your scores and rank within that league. If you join a public league, that same information is visible to anyone browsing public leagues before they join. We do not show your email address to other players.

5. How We Share Information

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who help us run Game the Show — currently Supabase (database, authentication, and hosting infrastructure) and Vercel (application hosting). These providers only process data on our behalf and under their own security and privacy commitments.
• Google, if you choose to sign in with Google — solely to authenticate you.
• Law enforcement or legal process, if we're required to by law.
• A successor, if Game the Show is ever acquired or merges with another company — you'd be notified if that changed how your information is handled.

6. Data Retention

We keep your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we'll remove your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it (for example, to resolve disputes or comply with the law).

7. Your Choices

• Email preferences: turn off gameplay reminder emails anytime from your Account page.
• Access and correction: you can update your display name, username, and avatar directly from your Account page at any time.
• Deletion: contact us at the email below to request that your account and associated data be deleted.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page, and where appropriate, notify you directly.
